DEVICE OVERVIEW

Products Included in Sens.U's Pain Relief Device Box

The Sens.U Pain Relief Device is designed to provide temporary relief of pain associated with dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps) through the combined use of far-infrared heat and TENS technology.

By applying heat and small electrical vibrations via the Wings, the Sens.U Pain Relief Device is able to prevent pain signals from travelling to the brain. The heat and vibrations also cause the muscles in the uterine area to relax, resulting in a calming analgesic effect.

The device includes 15 TENS intensity settings, 3 heat settings and 5 targeted treatment areas including shoulder, belly, waist, back and leg. Each treatment cycle lasts approximately 15 minutes and we recommend you start off using a low intensity level until you have gotten used to the device.

Sens.U’s Pain Relief Device is non-invasive and drug-free, therefore he risk of side effects is considered to be low. You can wear your Sens.U device comfortably while engaging in day to day activities and exercise.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

  • Clean the Sens.U Pain Relief Device after use with a soft, slightly damp cloth. If it is very dirty, you can also moisten the cloth with a mild soapy solution.
  • Ensure that no water enters the device. If this happens, only use the device again once it has fully dried out.
  • Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning.
  • Wing Gels can be used multiple times until it loses its adhesive capabilities. Usually 8-10 treatments. When this occurs:
  1. Gently roll Wing Gels off each Wing, taking care not to excessively bend the Wings
  2. Wipe Wings gently with damp cloth to remove residual Wing Gel. We suggest using a high quality microfiber towel
  3. Wipe Wings gently until completely dry
  4. Apply new Wing Gels per step 2 in the Quick Start Guide
  • Protect the Sens.U Pain Relief Device from strong impact.
  • Do not expose the Sens.U Pain Relief Device to direct sunlight or high temperatures.
  • Protect the device from dust, dirt and humidity using the included Sens.U Carry Bag.
  • Never immerse the device in water or other liquids.
  • Switch the device off immediately if it is faulty or not working properly.
  • Never attempt to open and/or repair the device yourself.
  • Repairs may only be carried out by Sens.U or authorised retailers. Failure to comply will invalidate the warranty.

Warnings and Safety

The device is not a substitute for medical consultation and treatment. Consult your doctor first if you are experiencing any pain or are suffering from an illness.

To avoid damage to health, DO NOT use the Sens.U Pain Relief Device in the following circumstances:

  • If you have implanted electrical devices (e.g. pacemaker).
  • If you have metal implants (e.g. copper coils).
  • If you use an insulin pump.
  • If you have a high fever (e.g. >39°C).
  • If you have a known or acutecardiac arrhythmia or disorders of the heart’s impulse and conduction system.
  • If you suffer from a seizure disorder (e.g. epilepsy).
  • If you are pregnant.
  • If you have cancer.
  • After a medical operation, if strong muscle contractions could affect the healing process.
  • Near the heart. The stimulation electrodes must not be placed on any part of the front ribcage (where the ribs and breastbone are located), and especially not on the two large pectorials, as this can increase the risk of ventricular fibrillation and induce cardiac arrest.
  • On the skeletal skull structure, or around the mouth, throat or larynx.
  • In the neck/carotid artery area.
  • On acutely or chronically diseased (injured or irritated) skin (e.g. inflamed skin – whether painful or not, reddened skin, rashes, burns, bruises, swellings, both open and healing wounds and post-operative scars where the healing process could be affected).
  • In humid environments (e.g. in the bathroom) or when bathing or showering.
  • After consuming alcohol.
  • If you are connected to a high frequency surgical device.
  • In cases of acute or chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Please also note:

  • This device may be used by children over the age of 8 and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental skills or a lack of experience or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the device safely, and are fully aware of the consequent risks of use.
  • If the device does not work properly, or you feel unwell or experience pain, stop using it immediately.
  • Do not modify the Sens.U Pain Relief Device in any way (e.g. by cutting it), as this will produce a higher current density and may be dangerous.
  • During the initial few minutes, use the device while sitting or lying down, to minimise the risk of accidental injuries arising from vagal responses (feeling of faintness) that have been infrequently reported as a side effect. If you feel faint, switch off the device immediately, lie down and support the legs in an elevated position (approx. 5–10 minutes).
  • Do not use the Sens.U Pain Relief Device whilst undertaking any activity where an unexpected reaction (e.g. strong muscle contractions even at low intensity) could be dangerous.
  • Do not use the device whilst using other devices that transmit electrical impulses to your body.
  • The actual temperature of the Sens.U Pain Relief Device may vary depending on the condition of your skin, your age, the location of the pain etc.
  • If the heat function feels too hot, stop treatment immediately. You can continue the TENS treatment without the heat function.
  • Do not use the Sens.U Pain Relief Device on wet skin as this impairs the adhesion of the Wing Gels.
  • Ensure that no metallic objects (e.g. belt buckles or necklaces) come into contact with the electrodes during stimulation. If you are wearing jewellery or have piercings in the area to be treated (e.g. a navel piercing), these must be removed before using the device; failure to do this may result in spot burns.
  • In order to achieve as long a battery service life as possible, fully charge the battery at least once every 6 months.
